Awesome Vikes win, but also still a realist

Last nights win was an awesome thing!  Finally the offense showed up as much or maybe close to as much as the defense.  My fellow bloggers would probably take exception to that remark, maybe?  I will admit, when Chi-town made it 17-14 I was thinking, oh man!  not again!  But then the offense did me proud by answering pretty much right away.  After listening to some of the national media today also beginning to jump on that Purple bandwagon, I am still cautiously optimistic.  Gus Frerote while doing a good job at game management, some of the mistakes he has made are scary.  Now, I realize it's also easy for me to say that when I don't have those DT's breathing down my neck.  I guess us Purple fans will just have to take it one game at a time.  I am hoping and praying that my previous blog theory of playing to the level of our opponent doesn't kick in this next week.  I would love to be wrong there!  Also, on the A.P. front, I would like to see him fight less for more yards when he in fact has 8-9 guys piled on him and it's obvious to everyone except him that he isn't going to gain anymore yards on that attempt.  Did anyone notice the toll that took on him once we got to the 4th quarter?  they had to reach for fresh legs in C.T.  If I am right, I think RBs coach E.B. was already telling him this.  Well, it's on to Detroit, which should be a win...cuz the week after we have AZ in AZ and not sure that won't be a dogfight as well!

Keywords: A.P., C.T., Chicago, Minnesota Vikings

  1. I am also hoping that the Vikes don't stoop to the level of the Lions this coming Sunday!  I'll never forget the end of the 2003 season, when (with three games remaining) the Vikings bumbled away a game to a mediocre Bears team, then beat a Chiefs squad that finished 13-3 that year (this was the infamous "Randy Moss afro" game), then collapsed again in the Arizona desert.  Maddening!!
