Sage Rosenfels

Now that #4 isn't in the equation, let's briefly talk about the Vikes options at QB.  #7 Vick, uh NOOOOOOO. After the Sex Boat and the fact it's JUST now fading into the sunset, Ziggy, if Chilly brings this to you, for godsakes, slap HIM.....

Well, it's over.  #4 has decided to listen to his body and say it's over OVER.  Does this Vikes Fanatic thinks we have heard the last of this drama?  I hope we have, but my spidy sen

two the Vikings should sign Brett Favre is actually four reasons rolled into one: Tarvaris Jackson, Sage Rosenfels, Gus Frerotte, and John David Booty. It is a sad state of affairs at quarterback in Minnesota and has been really since the departure of Fran Tarkenton as a series of washed up has-beens and young never-will-bes have been paraded through in hopes of leading the Vikings back to the promised land. Frerotte has the most experience of the four, but at 39 years old hasn't accomplished nearly as much as Favre has at 40. Rosenfels has the next most experience in the group with a grand total of 32 games under center. Rosenfels however has never played more than nine games in one season, and has played more than six games just twice. Jackson has gone back and forth as the pet project of head coach Brad Childress and has seen more up than down in his young NFL career. Booty, who had a solid collegiate career has yet to throw a pass in a meaningful NFL game. The Vikings have a championship caliber team with star talent at every position on the field except the most important, at quarterback.

We could use you to help coach Tavaris Jackson, Sage Rosenfels and John David Booty.  I believe Booty is the future with the right coaching.  We have a history of bad draft

I think we all can admit here that the QB competition has to be between the two we have in house now.  There have been too many current Vikes players that have dropped hints thru the media saying

I was sick to my stomach when i heard we had the deal between us and the texans became final and that we had landed sage rosenfels to compete with T-jack. After we lost to philly in the playoffs and childress said he wanted to bring in a person to compete with jackson, i thought he was just saying that to make jackson feel like he still was in the running. And i assumed that they would bring in a real quaterback such Cassel, Garcia, Warner, or a Leftwhich to run the team next year. But turns out Chilly wasnt lying he did get a guy that would compete at the same level of Jackson, which isnt saying much.

As football fans across the globe cast their longing eyes in the direction of the April draft, I decided that now might be a good time to reflect on draft classes of the last 10 years. Too often in this business, we rush ahead to the next big event without taking pause to evaluate the past and learn from it. In a way, this study will still be a celebration of the coming 2009 draft as I believe it will shed some light on certain overlooked trends that no one ever stops to consider. I will begin with a class by class showdown of sorts at the quarterback position over the last 10 drafts.  This is part II in the series:

coaches, the use of time-outs is a fundamental skill. They wasted one because quarterback Sage Rosenfels couldn't hear the play call through his helmet speaker and the Texans have no plan for that possibility. Most teams have hand signals that are used in this situation. Come on its technology, which means its great; but bound to fail along the lines of the Peter Principal. So Rosenfels called a time-out. That's one down the toilet. Another was wasted because the Texans had 13, yes, 13 defensive players on the field!  The worst part, Kubiak said that this was a good use of a time-out. Huh?
