Good effort.
7) If Al Jefferson plays even mediocre defense this season, he will be an all-star.
8) When you walk into the Target Center, there is a huge banner that reads, “Come see the WORLD CHAMPION BOSTON CELTICS play the Timberwolves on 11/21. Is Kevin McHale trying to piss the fans off? As expected, it will run through Al Jefferson, who will kick it out to whichever mediocre shooter is standing around the perimeter when he gets double- or triple-teamed. The problem with this strategy is that Jefferson is an absolutely awful passer. Just terrible. It’s a black hole when the ball goes inside. He’s got to learn the drop step and dish. Watching Kevin Garnett for 12 seasons made us almost expect extraordinary interior passing. Not the case with big Al.

2007, but Brewer’s offense makes Prince’s look like Scottie Pippen’s.
Al Jefferson: Really the only guy on the team with unquestioned talent. Jefferson is an absolute monster on offense, with quick moves and good footwork. Needs to work on his passing if the inside-out game with Mike Miller is going to be any sort of a threat. His defense is decidedly poor, but we knew that coming in. McHale says he’s worked on Al’s defense, which can only mean it’s gotten worse. Jefferson should average 22-12 this season, and could make his first all-star appearance.
