I'm not sure if the New York Knicks have all the pieces in place right now, but by adding Carmelo Anthony they are certainly one big step closer to being a NBA championship contender. Although considering the mismanagement over the last 10 years it's heard to believe they won't mess this up too.

Watch for the Knicks to make some strong stragetic moves during this off season to sure things up and make them a true Eastern conference powerhouse.

New York NY Direct TV can bring you all the Knicks action you want.

Two cities that produce NBA Eastern Conference contenders also have the two teams that are favored to win the Super Bowl as the NFL playoffs are set to begin this weekend.

NBA spread betting experts might recognize that Atlanta and Boston produce two East contenders and with the Falcons and Patriots, both cities have the Super Bowl XLV juggernauts as well.

Just as in the NBA’s East, Atlanta’s team is viewed with an eye of pessimism. The Falcons had a great regular season but don’t have a ton of playoff experience. They’re a young squad that is gaining it on the fly.

Meanwhile, Boston’s team - just like in the NBA – is experienced, savvy and has done it before. The Patriots are the odds-on favorites to do it all and considering they’ve won it three times this decade, why bet against them?

Basketball betting is not quite as common as betting on some other sports, but if you do your research, take your time and keep accurate records, there’s no reason you can’t be as successful at betting on basketball as betting on anything else. Here are a few tips to get you started.

Top Basketball Betting Tip: NCAA vs. NBA

Of course you are welcome to bet both college and pro basketball (including the WNBA), like placing your bets in online video poker games, you need to be aware that each type of basketball may have very different factors in play. In college basketball, every game counts, whereas pro teams can afford to drop a few games here and there and still have a great shot at the championship. There may be a much larger disparity between two competing college teams. Know the league you’re betting.

I really like the direction this team is going but I'm not so sure they can really be a contender in the East this year.  The East has gotten a lot stronger over the last few years and while I think they can make the playoffs I don't really see any chance that they can really beat The Magic, the Heat, the Celtics, of the Bulls.  And I'm skeptical they can even beat teams like the 76ers or the Hawks.

What do you think?

Well, this is written to anyone that has read my blogs in the past.  I have written a blog entry since Brett #4 Favre decided to almost stay retired.  I also see that NO one has read or replied to that or any other of my entries, nor any of the other writers, that I can see anyway.  So, it is for this reason I don't see it worth my time to continue.  I wish all those that continue here success in doing so.  But I am going to move on...Take care and GO VIKES!!

Now that #4 isn't in the equation, let's briefly talk about the Vikes options at QB.  #7 Vick, uh NOOOOOOO. After the Sex Boat and the fact it's JUST now fading into the sunset, Ziggy, if Chilly brings this to you, for godsakes, slap HIM.....

Now, on to reality.  T-Jack, Rosenfel, and JD Booty.  I think we all know T-Jack is going to win the fight between 1 & 2.  I also think Chilly needs to shake it up with whomever wins.  The loser needs to go and JD Booty needs to get his chance as #2.  After all, he did start at USC which the likes of Matt Leinart, Carson Palmer, and Sanchez did too.  One cannot be a slouch of a QB and play for Pete Carroll.  Also, Matt Cassell, came from that mold and look what he's doing now?  Vikes BRASS!!!  You drafted him.  If Sage wins, T-Jack must go.  We all know at some point in that equation, T-Jack will miss one game or two or whatever, and JD can step in and show what's what, IF it's there!!?  Don't have regrets with that draftpick!!  Let's see how it pans out....

Well, it's over.  #4 has decided to listen to his body and say it's over OVER.  Does this Vikes Fanatic thinks we have heard the last of this drama?  I hope we have, but my spidy sense tells me NO.  By staying retired, Favre has retained some of his luster as a "premier" QB in NFL History.  At the same time, do I think either QB the Purple has now can get us where Favre would have?  That's hard to say.  However I also don't think it fair to annoint T-Jack "the startesr".  A number of national media types don't think Rosefel has a shot at the starting nod.  Myself, I think if it's just between the 2, T-Jack will win.  To this day, I don't understand the Purple trading for Sage, he is not a "Premier" QB in the League.  He is buy no means a Sanchez which has not got the opportunity to show his skills.  Sage has received the opportunity in Houston and I can't say here he came out smelling like a rose.  So, why?  Us mere mortal fans will never know that.  Media has asked Chilly that question and did not receive a straight answer.  Now that Favre is not going to become reality, Chilly will live or die with his decisions.  I still say Garcia would have been an improvement and he was willing and didn't even have to un-retire.  I think we all know T-Jack is going to win, and if and when he does, I think the Vikes should cut the loser and promote JD Booty to 2nd string and give him that chance.  If the Purple doesn't get to the playoffs and progress past Round 1, Chilly and T-Jack have to be gone for ZWilf in order for fans to continue to be on the Purple bandwagon.  For that matter I also think Spielman also has to go, if this result happens.  We will all just have to wait and see.  I do think T-Jack demonstrated a bit of where his maturity is right now by letting it leak he would ask for a trade if Favre was signed.  That's a maturity concern involving what "if's".  Hopefully, that's not a sign of how T-Jack is going to hold up when the going get's tough.  We shall all stay tuned....

The eyes of the soccer world were on South Africa Sunday as the upset minded US National Team took on powerhouse Brazil in the final of the FIFA Confederations Cup. The Americans, on life support after the first two games of the tournament, were looking to complete their stunning turn around with a victory over Brazil in the final. The US had taken down the World's #1 team, Spain, on Wednesday and were looking to pull off another huge upset over Brazil who beat host South Africa to reach the final. For 45 minutes the US had the World wondering, could it be?

Through the first half the US was clearly the better team, led by Tim Howard who put in one of the best performances of his career. At the halftime whistle the Americans were ahead 2-0 and holding the Brazilian offense in check. In the 2nd half the US did all they could, Howard in particular, to keep the Brazilians off the board. Slowly but surely, however, you could see the Brazilians beginning to wear down the Americans, beginning to find a groove offensively. Brazil would fire in 3 goals in the later portion of the 2nd half, the final dagger coming in the 84th minute, to steal victory from the US with a 3-2 comeback win.

The United States National Team scored a monumental victory yesterday in the FIFA Confederations Cup, defeating world #1 Spain 2-0 in the tournament's semi-final game. Spain had been on an amazing streak heading into yesterday's game against the U.S. Spain was riding a 35 match unbeaten streak, one short of the all time record, and was also riding a world 15 game winning streak. None of that made a difference yesterday as Spain and its roster of world class footballers fell to the U.S.

All things considered, yesterday was a fantastic moment for the U.S. National Team as they pulled off one of international football's most stunning upsets. Spain is loaded with talented players who play for some of the best teams, in the best leagues in European football. Iker Casillas is perhaps the best goalie in the world right now, Gerard Pique, Carles Puyol, and Sergio Ramos comprise one of the best defenses in the world, and Fernando Torres and David Villa might be the most deadly 1-2 combination up front. The U.S. on the other hand is a very young, very green team with little depth and few veteran leaders. The majority of the U.S. players play at home in the less impressive MLS, and those who play abroad play in some of Europe's lesser leagues or see little playing time.

The Minnesota Twins and Milwaukee Brewers are locked in a border battle of non-epic proportions.  Compared to the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox rivalry, we are the two douche-bags on the play ground yelling about an ill-advised Magic the Gathering card throw.

Unfortunately for them, the Yankee’s and Red Sox’s players are tainted with steroids over the past decade so our border battle is pure like Columbian Cocaine right off the plane in Miami.

Last night Nick Blackburn lost a game that wasn’t his fault.  He is looking like the Ace the Twins need for the future and yet the runs didn’t support him.  Jason Kubel hit his 13th homer which keeps his 3rd place behind Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer.  Watching Jason Kubel hit home runs is like watching Lumberjack days.  He just cuts down trees to blast balls covering the fans with his white rocket.
